Gas Tightness Test & Purging in Suffolk
Calling all commercial property owners in Suffolk.
Have you ever had your commercial or industrial gas pipework installations tightness tested?
If the answer is no, you should call PHS immediately and get yourself on the road to Gas Safe Compliance.
What is Gas Tightness Testing?
On the whole, there are a series of complex and time consuming exercises that the Gas Safe Engineers at PHS can do to check that your gas pipework isn’t leaking gas and is safe for the general public, employees or your tenants to be around.
We provide assistance and services in the following areas:
- Purging (direct and indirect)
- Strength tests
- Gas tightness tests
When Do I Need to Think About Testing?
Our Gas Safe Engineers will tell you that you should consider testing if you think any of these apply to you:
- Plan to install a new system
- Plan to decommission an old system
- You turned the system off for a long period of time and want to turn it back on
- You replaced or altered an existing part of the pipework
- There is air in the system
- You smell gas
If you have PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) packages or you get your assets checked as part of an annual service, this should already be checked regularly enough.
If, as per the list above, you’ve got cause for concern or done something new, you should redo these tests.
Why is it Important to Have a Gas Safe Engineer Involved?
For starters, as a commercial business in Suffolk you have an obligation to be Gas Safe compliant, following the Gas Safe Regulations 1998.
Not only are you endangering lives if you ignore this, but you’re also breaking the law!
If you require certification of gas safe compliance, or want help becoming compliant, we can get an engineer sent out to you. If you smell gas, we can ensure an emergency call out is heading your way as soon as possible.
If you want us to help with your plans to modify, we can do that too. Just call us.
